The Rainbow Center is more
than just a place, more than just a drop in center. It is someone to take
a desperate call from a newly diagnosed person with HIV disease or AIDS; it is a
friendly face to someone who has met only scowls lately; it is a warm plate of
food to a hungry person; The Rainbow Center is a place where things happen.
Support groups are held regularly for those with HIV/AIDS and their family and
loved ones. These groups are available at the Center or in Milledgeville, Warner
Robins, and Dublin. We have support groups for family, caregivers, friends, and
all those infected and/or affected by HIV/AIDS.
Questions like: How can people always have a number to call when they need help,
education, or just a question answered? Where can we hold a support group
without danger of loss of confidentiality? Where can we gather for support
groups at convenient times? Where can we have meditation, healing and memorial
services to suit all religious belief? Where can we have a safe place for
fellowship? Where can we have a home we can not be asked to leave?
Then, through the kindness of three donors, a building owner, Peyton Anderson
Foundation, and volunteers - The Rainbow Center was born! The Center is located
on the city bus line, near hospitals, clinics and other medical services as well
as social services needed during this disease.
You can find us right behind the Econo Lodge, at 2020 Ingleside Drive or call us
at 750-8080 in Macon or toll free 800-374-2437, or email at The Rainbow Center .
Drop by for a visit today, get to know us, donate your talents and or your money
to enhance or continue our services. Your help and check will keep the phones
ringing, the lights on in the window for someone who needs to see a friendly
face, and a comfortable place for those who are sick and weary in need of your
support.
