We dedicate these pages to the
memory of all those who have died of AIDS complication. To those who are still
living with AIDS and fighting the battle, and to those who have enough heart and
gumption to stay by their side to love and care for them. May the blessings of
God be with you and them always.
The opening song of the play
"QUILT a musical celebration" makes a statement to that sets the stage for the
reason the AIDS Memorial Quilt has become a testament to the out come of the
AIDS epidemic. No, the Quit does not replace the natural grieving that must take
place when you lose someone to this battle. It does not make it any easier to
understand why your loved one had to died. The Quilt is a living memory of the
person no longer with us, if but a brief glance in that person's life. The Quilt
is an introduction to the person in whose memory you constructed the Quilt. Who
on earth knew that when the children of the sixties professed "Make love not
war" that we would wind up killing more people with love and sex then all our
wars combined.
What we are about to present to you are just some of the Quilt panels built in
the memory of some people in the Middle Georgia area that have died of AIDS
complications. It is a tribute to there fight and the lives they shared with
many of us. To the memories that time can not erase, to the joys and
tribulations of the journey we call life. If you or someone you know has died of
AIDS complication and would like to build a Quilt panel in their memory, contact
The Rainbow Center at 2020 Ingleside Drive, Macon, GA. 31201 (478) 750-8080 or
